Help & Tips

Keep the app in the foreground during transcription

The AI transcription engine runs entirely on your device and requires significant processing power. For best results, keep Zuan in the foreground while transcription is in progress. Switching to another app may pause or slow down the process.

Battery usage during transcription

On-device AI transcription is CPU and GPU intensive. Long transcription sessions will use more battery than normal. For lengthy audio files, consider keeping your device plugged in.

Sync subscriptions across devices

Your podcast subscriptions automatically sync via iCloud. After installing Zuan on a new device, your subscriptions will appear after a brief sync period. Downloaded episodes are stored locally per device.

Import audio from other apps

Use the iOS Share Sheet to send audio files from Files, Voice Memos, or any other app directly into Zuan. You can also use AirDrop to send audio files from a Mac or another device.

Difference between “base” and “base (quantized)” models

The “base” model is the standard version, offering high accuracy for most general audio. The “base (quantized)” model is a compressed version designed to run faster and use less battery while having a slightly smaller app footprint. If you prioritize speed and efficiency, the quantized model is a great choice.
